Aspida Dx has acquired an advanced point of care, multiplex testing technology portfolio along with associated designs and prototypes with intent to create a unique solution to fill unmet needs in the provision of diagnostic tools that leverage progress in precision medicine applied to rapidly evolving threats to public health and safety. The AspidaDx approach is to couple its highly sensitive and flexible diagnostics technology with strategic partners that provide the timely information required to ensure our products are future-proof.

The first application of our technology will provide an advanced tool to help fight the ongoing opioid crisis. The AspidaDX system, consisting of an integrated collection device and test cartridge together with an instrument reader, can detect the most currently abused drugs from a saliva sample in 15 minutes. Through strategic partnership with CFSRE¹ and NMS Labs² , Aspida Dx can monitor constantly changing trends in the illicit drugs-of-abuse market and adapt its panel of tests to actual usage. Aspida Dx has assembled a team of experienced leaders to drive the development of this technology towards commercialization of tools to specifically address the opioids crisis.

¹CFSRE is a non-profit organization whose NPS Discovery program identifies novel components in street drugs from seizures and their appearance in post-mortem toxicological analyses in collaboration with NMS Labs.

²NMS Labs is the largest privately held clinical and forensic toxicology laboratory in the US.  It performs around a third of the post mortem toxicology analyses in the US as well as serving as a reference laboratory with its broad menu of testing that includes emerging drug threats.
